At Indigo Homes, we’re builders first and foremost (not marketers). What we’re really focused on is the quality of the home you move into and the quality of the experience you have getting there.
We know how to do a great job at both.
Our team has been building for so long we’ve come to appreciate what the experience can be like for you – particularly if you’re about to build for the very first time.
For example, we know it’s hard to get rock-solid certainty with some builders about just how much your home will cost, how long it will take to build, and what kind of quality you’ll actually end up with – compared to what you see in a display home.
We also know that when the process is so involved and new, and the end result so hard to imagine, it’s difficult to be hand-on-your heart confident that you’re making the right choice.
And with all that going on, it’s also easy to see why building can be stressful, draining, and downright confusing.
Because of that we didn’t just want to build the most stunningly designed, value-for-money, quality homes we could. We also wanted to make your building experience much, much better when you build with us.
So here’s how we back that up and help you relax:
To start with, we’ve produced The No Surprises Building Book. This is a simple guide to all the steps involved in building a new home, who’s responsible for what, and typical timeframes.
It helps you be more informed about the ins and outs of building a new home in Queensland, and you can use it whether you build with us or not.
Of course, when you become an Indigo Homes client, we then create Your Personal Blueprint – which is your customised guide to the build of your home, with our guaranteed timeframes.
Secondly, we’ve taken a long, hard look at pricing. Now we know that those too-good-to-be-true offers are all over the place. You know, the ‘Get $50,000 of inclusions for $2,000’ kind of thing.
The problem is, we know that these deals are pretty hard to unravel. It’s not easy to get to the tintacks of what you really get. And once you do, well, let’s just say, you do pay one way or another, because there’s no such thing as a free lunch.
We’ve decided we’re not going to play that kind of smoke and mirrors game.
Instead, we’ve put in place the Crystal Clear Pricing Policy. In essence what you see is what you get and the inclusions package we offer is jam-packed with value and all included in the standard, market-competitive price. Where there are upgrades, they are clearly defined and competitively priced.
You can read more about our standard inclusions and Crystal Clear Pricing Policy here.
Thirdly, we know that another thing that often disappoints people is quality. They complain they saw a builder’s display home and it was great, but that when their home was built, well, that was a different story.
Our approach to quality is simple. We want you to know that the quality you see in our display homes is the quality you’ll have in the home we build for you.
The quality you see, is the quality you get.
We can deliver it because our many years of experience building homes has helped us design – and continue to evolve – a robust quality management framework that the entire company is part of.
For example, our subcontractors and suppliers are regularly reviewed and rated. If suppliers don’t continue to perform, we ditch them. Our supervisors – with just enough homes to oversee but not too many – check the work of our tradespeople. If it doesn’t pass, they do it again. Our area and building managers sign off their work in turn.
Having said all of that, we have a very low turnover of suppliers, staff and trades. We recruit well, train and monitor. And our display homes are the visual benchmark for the quality we deliver as standard – not as special, one-off, or purely for display.
We mentioned before that when you become an Indigo Homes client, we give you Your Personal Blueprint – a customised guide to the build of your home with our guaranteed timeframes.
For example, if you’re building a single-storey home then the build time is 16 weeks. If you’re building double-storey, then it’s 20.* If you’re an Indigo Express client, then you also get to site in 12 weeks. Of course, as we’ve said before the actual construction is only part of the story. We know there are all sorts of others things you need to manage with banks, councils and sometimes covenants.
So we also outline the steps you need to take to sort all that out and the documents you need to provide to banks and the like.
We store all of that in a secure online section of our website, that only you and we can access, so it’s always available and never lost. That’s where we also lodge working drawings, construction progress photos and other important notes and documents.
After all, building a new home can take as long as a pregnancy from start to finish, and who wants to go looking through hundreds of emails for important information?
Of course, while The No Surprises Building Book, Crystal Clear Pricing Policy, the Quality You See is the Quality You Get approach to quality and Your Personal Blueprint are all fundamental to the way we deliver a better building experience, it’s not the end of our story by a long shot.
For example, we know you’ll also want to see our designs (simply use the Design Directory just to the right), see what’s on sale now in house and land packages (simply use the On Sale quick search to the right), find out more about what we include as standard, and find out how much we charge.
After all that, you’re probably likely to want to contact us to find out more – and we look forward to helping you with your enquiry in whatever way we can. We want you to know that you can relax with us!
